Summary:

Strong and adventurous Gwendolyn Barnes longs to be a knight like her chivalrous brothers. However, that is not an option for her, not even in the Arthurian-inspired Eden where she dwells. Her parents view her only as a marriage pawn, and her domineering father is determined to see her wed to a brutish man who will break her spirit.
When handsome, good-hearted Allen of Ellsworth arrives in Edendale searching for his place in the world, Gwendolyn spies in him the sort of fellow she could imagine marrying. Yet fate seems determined to keep them apart. Tournaments, intrigue, and battles--along with twists and turns aplenty--await these two as they struggle to find love, identity, and their true destinies.
Review:
*The publisher provided this book in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.*
Gwendolyn Barnes isn't like the other noble ladies, she actually loves the outdoors and longs to become a knight, like her brothers. However that's impossible, since her father only wants her to marry a rich and influential nobleman, so the family can rise.
When she meets the chivalrous Allen of Ellsworth, when he arrives in Edendale, looking for his place in the world, Gwendolyn knows he's the only kind of man she could ever picture marrying. Impossile situations are keeping them apart.
Between tournaments, battles and plot twists the pair struggles to find out who they are and conquering their right to love each other.
This book is quite good and I loved how it had familiar aspects, from the Arthurian Legends, but at the same time it was a whole new concept. The characthers are very diverse and there are all kinds of human beings characterized in this work, for good to bad, just as in real life.
I loved the way the two characthers had to fight for what they wanted and how brave, feminine and strong Gwendolyn is!
The love part of the book is very well blended with the other struggles that appear through the chapters and I appreciated the England like country Gwendolyn inhabits.
Even though there was some feeling missing. What I mean is that I didn't feel that "click" that you usually feel when you're reading a good book, but that doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy it.
This is a good book for people who like love stories and young adult and don't feel confortable with sex scenes, since this book is completely "sex free". Other readers might enjoy it as well, it really depends on the kind of reader and if he/she can take in the whole story.
