Synopsis:
Life isn’t so bad for succubus, Kenna Blake. True, she seems to be the only succubus with a conscience and a specific strategy for finding her male meals, but she has a cute new apartment, a budding graphic design business, and the most unique friends she’s ever had.
Her personal love life, however, is non-existent.
Until the legendary vampire Randal Vincent sweeps into her life. Even though he isn’t someone she set out to date, at least she can kiss him without killing him. But when you’re dating someone who’s the inspiration for Dracula, there are bound to be a few hiccups along the way…

Review:
Kenna Blake is a succubus and she doesn't like to feed but she decided she has to live with it. Her nature makes her dating life pretty hard but, when her friend arranges her a blind date with a werewolf she sees the legendary vampire Randal Vincent who is the inspiration for Dracula she wants more...
This book was good and I liked the mix of different kinds of supernatural creatures, while humanizing them and making like it's usual for them to walk along with humans in daylight.
Kenna was human in every way possible, including her guilt and her love and some details trought teh story itself while Randal was all kinds of supernatural as possible which means four things: rich, sexy, mysterious and powerful.
The only problem I had with this book is that it doesn't end at a good place in the story! When my kindle said it was over I was like "How can this be the last page?!".
If you like supernatural species and love you'll enjoy this book.

Summary:
With Britain caught up in WWI, Jack Benningham, heir to the Earl of Stonebrooke, has declared himself a conscientious objector. Instead, he secretly works for the Crown by tracking down German spies on British soil, his wild reputation and society status serving as a foolproof cover.
Blinded by patriotism and concern for her brother on the front lines, wealthy suffragette Grace Mabry will do whatever it takes to assist her country's cause. When she sneaks into a posh London masquerade ball to hand out white feathers of cowardice, she never imagines the chain of events she'll set off when she hands a feather to Jack.
And neither of them could anticipate the extent of the danger and betrayal that follows them--or the faith they'll need to maintain hope.(from Netgalley)

AUTHOR BIO:
I'm Jacqueline Garlick, author of young adult and new adult fiction. I love strong heroines, despise whiny sidekicks, and adore a good story about a triumphant underdog. (Don't you?)
I love to read, write, paint (walls and paper). I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate, grammar, and technology and would rather hang out with a dog, than a cat. I prefer creating things to cleaning things, and believe laughter is a one-stop-shop solution to all that ails you. You will always find a purple wall (or two) in my house (currently in my writing room), and there may or may not be a hidden passageway that leads to a mystery room. (Okay, so you won't find a hidden passageway, but a girl can dream, can't she?) Oh, and tea. There will always be tea.
My writing style has been described as edgy and rule-breaking, and by some--a touch Tim Burton-esque. Because of this, I am often referred to as the Quentin Tarantino of YA among writing friends.
In my former life, I was a teacher (both grade school and college-don't ask), but more recently I've been a graduate of Ellen Hopkin's Nevada Mentor Program and a student of James Scott Bell, Christopher Vogler and Don Maass. An excerpt from Lumière earned me the 2012 Don Maass Break Out Novel Intensive Scholarship.
Lumière--A Romantic Steampunk Fantasy--my debut novel, is the recipient of an indieBRAG Medallion!!! B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree October 15, 2014) I am so proud! (LUMIERE by Jacqueline E. Garlick is a B.R.A.G.Medallion Honoree. This tells a reader that this book is well worth their time and money!) Book II of the ILLUMINATION PARADOX SERIES, is out January 26th, now on pre-order.
Also, check out my young adult contemporary romantic/mystery serial, IF ONLY, where reluctant telepathic sleuth Kyla Cooper must embrace her powers and risks all to solve the mystery of what happened to her boyfriend Denver Munro, becoming his voice of truth, before he has no voice at all...

The Reader Diaries #3

Hi guys! Happy Sunday, I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday, as promised, but I was helping my momma cleaning the house and I forgot completely!
I hope this post will find you well and happy!

This week I've been dedicating myself to reading and  reviewing all the books in my NetGalley and cross-posting reviews on Amazon, Goodreads and Booklikes. It's kind of exausting but I'm trying to get more material so I can review more books for you and even create other kinds of posts.
Between all that I have been thinking what course I want to take in university and I only have one year to decide! I'm torned between web-design and biology and I really don't know what to do!
I have been having trouble reading my school assigned books and  the book "Memorial do Convento" by José Saramago, which is a Nobel Prize Winner, is being particularly difficult because the only kind of ponctuation is has is commas, stops and capital letters. There's no speech introduction and I find it hard to distinguish speach from narration!
I'm hopeful that I'll be able to finish this book in time for school!
And to say goodbye here's a funny caption from Tumblr about schoolwork:

This thrilling young adult adventure is the first in the richly-imagined Starbright series, which is laced with mystery, mythology, romance, and magic. Justice Buried will have you questioning fate versus free will along with Astrea's strong female lead, and wondering who can be trusted when everyone is keeping secrets.

Review:
*The publisher provided this book in exchange for an honest review.*
Astrea is a sixteen-year-old girl living in the underground city of Asphodel, created to protect the community from the Great Sickness that attacked the human kind one hundred years before.
The citizens of Asphodel are waiting for a prophesied maiden to save them and to take back the outside world and unfortunately that maiden is Astrea. She has a great responsability and even her own home isn't a safe place for her when she has to decide to save everyone or herself.
This book takes you on a thrilling ride in a different world while Astrea learns what responsability and motivation really are and starts the path to find her true self.
I started this book with many doubts without knowing if I would like it or what it was really about, since I decided to request it on NetGalley after reading two lines of the description.
In the beginning it was difficult to immerse myself on the new reality that was Astrea's world but I kept reading and was not disappointed!
In this book you have distopian, futuristic and supernatural elements combined and fused into a great story with a great plot and great and marvellous characthers!
Just the feeling of living in a world where people's lives are contolled by the zodiac, they are controlled by things they have never seen! They pray to the sun, the moon and the stars and they don't know what those are!
When you can join a characther while he or she overcomes adversity is one of the best feelings ever! You're part of the group and you feel that you're there with them in that moment!
I loved this book and I know you'll like it to if you liked books like Divergent or Hunger Games, it has that special dystopian feel to it with a little hint of romance!

P.S: I neeed the next book because I want to see where this is going!

Today I want to talk to you about a persons  worst enemy: PROCRASTINATION!

procrastination
[proh-kras-tuh-ney-shuh n, pruh‐]
noun
1.
the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention:
She was smart, but her constant procrastination led her to be late with almost every assignment.
Above you can see that the dictionary defines procrastination as putting off or delaying or in another words: Imagine that you have homework to do but then you look around your room and see an amazing book that you really want to (re)read and you keep putting of doing your homework and when the delivery day arrives you have to do it in the break before class because you read a book instead of doing your homework. That's procrastination and that is a problem that I struggle with every day!
Latelly my procrastination method has been the internet, mainly Youtube and Instagram! I think you know what I mean!
I've been spending more time watching photos and videos about books that I haven't read all the books that I want (and should) read and because of that my TBR pile (in my kindle) is getting out of control!
I have so many Galleys (from Netgalley) to read and so many books that I need to read for school and I'm doing almost zero reading!

Now that I've talked a little about procrastination I want to tell you something that happened this week that was surreal!
If did not understand what it was from this picture I'll tell you! My country has purchased the rights to "The Death Code" by Lindsay Cummings! I'm so happy! I was in a restaurant when I saw this and I had a fangirl moment... yep... everyone looked at me...

On another note I'll show you the books you'll be seeing reviews of in the near future (from NetGalley):

And these are why I have a huge TBR! I hope I'll see you soon! Sorry for the long post!
Love, Ana
