After her father's funeral, Marisa MacCallum goes for a horseback ride into the woods he really didn't like her to go. Suddenly an electrical storm happens and she falls from her horse, only to wake up on another dimension surrounded by two mysterious men who claim to be on a political task.
Marisa immediately feels allured by the handsome but cold man who doesn't trust her. He tells her he is Ambassador Darian Fiore and that she is in the realm of Carnelia.
Even if she didn't feel like she belonged back home, she doesn't quite fit in here also, but she's charmed by the beauty and magic of this new realm.
Darian and his friend are on the road to meet Savino da Rocha, an evil man who seeks to claim Darian's kingdom after his father's death and bringing Marisa with them may only make things worse, but some things have to be a certain way and they'll all have to defeat Savino and his ill intentions, while also figuring out how they can trust each other.
This book surprised me times a million! I was afraid that the plot would be cheesy and repetitive with no original content, but my world was shaken. I cried, I loved and I laughed with the characters and it was utterly amazing.
Marisa is a model girl, she has struggled and her life is everything but easy, but still, she's able to be strong and help her family through it all. The way her personality clashes with Darian is very funny and I loved every single fight they had.
Development and "amazingness" may be the main words to describe this book, I'll have to state that this is one of the top books I have ever read and that I think all readers would benefit from reading it, since is very constructive and it mixes modern and not so modern elements in an interesting mix that is the key to this story's success!
Do try and pick up this book, you will certainly not be disappointed and you'll love every single page of it, even if it brings you pain since when a book is very good, pain is sometimes enjoyable!
